The gold-colored metal stopper is in the shape of a tied bow with ends draping down the sides of the bottle. The bow is encrusted with green and clear rhinestones on both sides. Taylor’s name is written in script, in dark green enamel, across the front of the bottle. The bottom of the bottle is acid-etched – "LIMITED EDITION." A bonus gift was included with the presentation. It is a tiny, faceted, green glass pendant necklace replicating the bottle with a little gold bow. The pendant comes in a dark green velvet pouch with an oval hang-tag attached to the draw-string.

NOTE: There were only 250 "signature" bottles made of -- Diamonds/Emeralds, Diamonds/Rubies, Diamonds/Sapphires, and 1,000 White Diamonds. The bottle is octagonal with sloping shoulders, straight sides and a rounded base. The bottom is faintly acid etched with a double circle – in the center of the circle is Hudnut's RHR logo; outer circle – "Bottle Made in France."

BOURJOIS, SOIR DE PARIS, 5 1/4" h., PERFUME BOTTLE, c.1928
From Joan's collection. This classic Bourjois bottle held Soir de Paris/Evening in Paris. The bottle retains 50% of the fragrance. This perfume is old and should not be used. Originial cord around the neck. The label is printed "Soir de Paris" with the English translation in smaller letters below the French name. The bottom edge of the label is marked "Paris-France" (U.S. labels are marked "New York and Paris"). The clear stopper has elongated marquis impressions in the glass. There is a partial, oval, paper label on the front. I believe it to be the price tag of the store that sold the bottle in France. In the center of the label is a, faded, hand-written figure – possibly "800" [Francs]. The only readable printed letters are – "PAR…"[fumerie] and "7 Av…" – most likely the address of the shop. The bottom of the bottle is molded – "BOURJOIS – FRANCE" with a number "3."

NOTE: I was told by a Bourjois collector that bottles with labels marked "Soir de Paris" / "Paris – France", were distributed in France. Bottles with labels marked "Evening in Paris" / "New York and Paris", were distributed in the U.S. This bottle may date from the late 1920s to very early 1930s.

Size: 5 1/4" h. x 2 1/4" w. (at base). Condition: Bottle – very good, no chips; light striations that look like scratches – they are not; back has an etched area (not polished) near bottom (see additional photos). Stopper – excellent, no chips. Label – very good; printing excellent, sharp and clear; straightened-out crimps top and bottom right points; left side is thick (maybe backing paper folded under when label was applied); light age scratches. Overall, this is a very good example in this very large size of a S.D.P. perfume bottle.

GUERLAIN, SHALIMAR, STOPPER WITH HOLE, CRYSTAL NANCY PERFUME BOTTLE, c.1925
From Joan's collection. Guerlain's classic "Shalimar" perfume bottle. This bottle was made by Cristalleries de Nancy (1920-1935*). Iridescent blue-flashed stopper with hole and gilded name. Gold and black paper label. Unopened – some evaporation. This is a collector bottle. It should not be opened. The perfume is old and should not be used.

When Shalimar was introduced to the market in 1925, the stopper was designed with a hole for the purpose of tying the cord to the bottle neck. The Baccarat crystal and glass examples of this bottle (stopper without a hole) are most often seen. Early on, Baccarat also produced a stopper with a hole. However, the bottle was also made by Cristal Nancy with a hole in the stopper and it is this version that is difficult to find. The C.N. stopper and bottle are slightly different from the Baccarat version. Viewed sideways, the front and back surfaces of the C.N. stopper are parallel to one another vs. Baccarat's stopper which tapers out at the base near the hole. The body of the C.N. bottle is set on a higher and, in my opinion, more graceful foot with a thinner flared base. There is a hand etched number and an acid etched Cristal Nancy logo (double bar Cross of Lorraine) on the bottom which is partially hidden by Guerlain's disclaimer label. Translation of label: This merchandise can only be sold in Paris in the shops of Guerlain. In the provinces and in Belgium it can not be sold below the price of its shops in Paris.

* When the company went out of business, it was acquired by Baccarat.

Size: 5 3/4" h. x 4" w. (at shoulders) x 1 3/4" d. (at base). Condition: Bottle – MINT. Stopper – very good, tiny chip back bottom left edge - may be production flaw - appears iridescent; blue flashing and gilded name – MINT. Label – excellent. See additional photos.

LELONG, "INDISCRETE", PERFUME BOTTLE, c.1935
In my opinion, Lucien Lelong made some of the most feminine and lovely perfume bottles. In ths lising is the bottle for Lucien Lelong's vintage fragrance, Indiscrete. The bottle is molded in a draped fabric design. Tall and graceful, it is classic and very feminine in style. The high quality frosted glass has a satiny feel to the touch. While the fragrance was launched in 1935, this bottle is from a later time, possibly the 1940s or 50s. A round gold foil label covers the bottom of the bottle.
Size: 2 7/8" h. Condition: The glass bottle is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks. The metal stopper has some bruises where force may have been used to unscrew the cap, but it is not major, and the bottle displays very well. The bottom label has friction age wear around the edges. Please see compositpictures for condition of the cap and label. Priced accordingly.

LUCIEN LELONG, ORGUEIL, METAL CLAD PERFUME BOTTLE, c.1946
This limited edition bottle was made by Lucien Lelong for "Orgueil." The bottle and stopper are completely covered in gold-colored metal! The bottle is empty. Number 244 is faintly etched and very faintly painted on the base of the stopper neck. The same number is on the INSIDE bottom of the bottle. The bottle opening is 3/4" wide, and the number can be seen by reflecting the inside of the bottle in sunlight or under good incandescent light. The large number is hand-written on paper which must have been glued to the glass before the metal was applied. There is also a round paper label on the bottom of the outside of the bottle: "PARFUMS LUCIEN LELONG, MADE IN FRANCE, NET. CONT. 4 FL. OZ., PARIS."
Size: 4 5/8" h. x 2 3/4" w. (at widest point). Condition: The bottle is in good condition -- minor, normal age scratches. The bottle rim has a very tiny nick and 2 tiny discolored areas. Stopper edge has nicks and dings. The underside of stopper has tiny flakes in the glass along the metal edge which were probably done in the manufacturing process when the metal was applied over the glass. The glass is completely level with the metal, so it would be difficult to chip the glass in that area. No chips to the stopper neck. NOTE: enlarged pictures are taken with a macro lens and greatly enhance any imperfections.

GILBERT ORCEL, COUP DE CHAPEAU, PERFUME BOTTLE, c.1948
This unusual bust-shaped perfume bottle was made by Gilbert Orcel for the fragrance "Coup de Chapeau." The name translates to "Tip of the Hat" -- a very appropriate name for this French milliner. The bottle is empty. It is white glass with gilded accents. The head is an overcap that covers the gilded inner stopper. Molded into the glass on the bottom of the bottle, in raised letters, is "ORCEL" and "MADE IN FRANCE." This bottle is very often displayed incorrectly -- with the head on backwards! The bow is on the back of the figure.
